Workshops for physical health and fitness

They are interactive seminars designed to engage and inspire your employees to improve their health. With a combination of learning and participation, your employees can leave the workshop with new skills. 

Bookings must be made at least six weeks in advance by email. Please include three dates with your request. Prices start at £250 + VAT. Contact the team at wellbeingevents@vitality.co.uk for individual prices.

Posture principles

Length of Workshop: 60 minutes

Greater digital connectivity has changed the way we work and socialise. From the tools we use to communicate to when and where we use them. We may be placing unnecessary stress and strain on our bodies as a result. This can lead to stiffness and even pain as a result of spending too much time sitting in the same position at our workstation.

In this workshop you will learn how to reduce aches and pains using a holistic approach to your health. You will learn practical stretches to use during the work day to relieve tension in muscles and joints. Participants will also learn the importance of regular movement to their health.

How to build your own exercise programme

Length of Workshop: 60 minutes

No matter their prior knowledge, this workshop will provide attendees with the fundamentals needed to build their very own resistance training or HIIT exercise programme. Knowing how much to do, what to do, and when to do it in terms of exercise can be tricky; not only do we help to answer these questions, but we also show attendees how to build a maintainable and sustainable routine that will keep them healthy for years to come. 

In this workshop attendees will learn:

  • Why a routine focused on their goals is so important
  • How to construct both their own resistance training, and HIIT exercise programmes
  • Which movements/exercises.

How to improve your cardiovascular fitness

Length of Workshop: 60 minutes

Improved cardiovascular fitness is not only associated with increasing your capacity to exercise for longer, it also has a number of health benefits including: reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, aiding in weight loss, reducing the risk and symptoms of depression, decreased risk of osteoporosis as well as improved cognition. This workshop will give attendees the knowledge to improve their own cardiovascular health and build their own cardiovascular fitness programme.

In this workshop attendees will learn:
  • What cardiovascular fitness is and how it is measured
  • Which factors affect their cardiovascular performance
  • How to train and build a programme to specifically to improve their cardiovascular fitness

The fundamentals of recovery

Length of Workshop: 60 minutes

Recovery permits your body time to heal itself in preparation for your next workout or stressful day at work. Factors encompassed within proper recovery include sleep, mental wellbeing, nutrition, hydration, frequency, and type of training amongst many more. As if this wasn’t enough, there are also a plethora of acute techniques claiming to be the ‘key’ to effective recovery. This workshop separates the facts from the fiction, helping attendees to find the best recovery methods for them.

In this workshop attendees will learn:
  • How to optimize recovery to perform at their best while both exercising and during day-to-day life
  • Which recovery methods actually work and how they do so
  • Why the recovery fundamentals (sleep, nutrition, and rest) are so important and why they should concentrate on these before starting to exercise
