Why we support mental health

One in four people are affected by a mental health condition every year (Mind, 2020).

We understand that anyone can find themselves treading the fine line between feeling well and feeling overwhelmed, like Vitality Ambassador and sporting legend, Jonny Wilkinson.

How Vitality can support your mental health

Our mental health support spans preventative measures and early intervention treatment, to optional comprehensive treatment for more serious conditions.

There are two ways we can help:

Core Cover – our standard health insurance cover includes access to preventative measures and early intervention such as CBT and counselling within VitalityHealth's Talking Therapies network.
Mental Health Cover – our optional cover includes unlimited in-network Talking Therapies, plus further cover for out-patient, in-patient and day-patient treatment.

Mental health support within Mental Health Cover

For an additional monthly premium

Unlimited Talking Therapies

Full cover for Talking Therapy sessions either face-to-face or remote, without impacting your mental health or general out-patient cover.
£1,500 worth of out-patient cover

Up to £1,500 worth of out-patient treatment, for example with a psychiatrist.
No annual limit for hospital stays

Up to 28 days of hospital treatment as an in-patient, per episode of care. Plus 28 days of treatment as a day-patient, per episode of care. You can claim for multiple episodes of care during a plan year.
