Here you’ll find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about Wellness Optimiser, Vitality Optimiser and Vitality Plus.
Vitality Plus is an additional benefit that gives you access to all our rewards and partners as well as the opportunity to earn cashback every year. It is automatically included with Wellness Optimiser and Vitality Optimiser. Additionally, Wellness Optimiser gives you a huge upfront premium discount of up to 60% on Whole of Life Cover and 40% on Fixed-Term Cover. Vitality Optimiser also gives you an upfront premium discount – up to 40% on Whole of Life Cover and 25% on Fixed-Term Cover. If you have selected Vitality Plus but not Wellness Optimiser or Vitality Optimiser, then this will not give you an upfront premium discount.
Wellness Optimiser gives you the biggest upfront premium discount - up to 60% on Whole of Life Cover and 40% on Fixed Term Cover and access to all our reward partners.
Vitality Optimiser gives you an upfront discount of up to 40% on Whole of Life Cover and 25% on Fixed-Term Cover and access to all our reward partners. Vitality Plus gives you access to all of our reward partners however it does not give you an upfront premium discount. However, all three options give you the opportunity to earn annual cashback and benefit from discounted health checks. View our comparison table for more details.
To be eligible for annual cashback, you must have completed a health check or screen in that plan year. The amount of cashback you will receive depends on your Vitality status at the plan anniversary date, as well as whether it’s a single or joint life plan.

Wellness Optimiser is designed to encourage you to know and understand your health. All readings that are taken in health checks are valid for two plan years. Each year, 30 days before your anniversary, the best valid health check results for each of the 4 tests (Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose and Cholesterol) will be used to assign you a Wellness status. This will then be used, alongside your Vitality status to determine your annual premium adjustment.
We encourage you to complete a health check every two years (up until age 80).
However, if you have type 2 diabetes your health check results will only be valid for 1 year. Additionally we will ask you to provide us with your HbA1c reading each year. Therefore we encourage you to complete a health check every year.
