Football star Alex Scott MBE teams up with Vitality as Ambassador

Vitality, the innovative health and life insurance and investment company, has today announced a new partnership with former professional footballer, Alex Scott MBE, who takes on the role as Ambassador for the brand.

Alex, who has been an icon for women’s football, began her career at Arsenal Women’s team, winning nine league titles and seven FA Cups, before moving to the US to join the Boston Breakers Women's Professional Soccer league. Alex has also represented the English national team in three World Cups and four UEFA Women's Championships, as well as Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. Alex is also now a regular football pundit for a number of TV channels, covering the Premier League and other major football tournaments.

Working with Vitality, Alex will use her breadth of experience and passion for team sports to inspire people to get active and provide them with achievable steps to make positive changes to their health, and be part of Vitality’s ongoing commitment to supporting women’s sport.

Vitality research shows improvements to activity levels can make a positive difference to people’s long-term health and through the extra nudge of incentives and rewards they can be encouraged to make healthy choices every day.

Vitality has long since been a proactive supporter of women’s sport, and this month has also reaffirmed its commitment to women’s football through the announcement of its sponsorship of the Women’s FA Cup and partnership with six new football teams, with the agreements covering both the men’s and women’s teams.

In her new role as an Ambassador, Alex will work closely with Vitality to inspire people, and women and girls in particular, to get active, try football or other physical activity, and to adopt healthier lifestyle habits over the long term.

Alex joins current Vitality Ambassadors Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Heather Knight, Tracey Neville, Ellie Simmonds, Jos Buttler, Maro Itoje, Joe Root and Jonny Wilkinson.

Commenting on her new role as an Ambassador, Alex Scott MBE said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Vitality as an Ambassador. Encouraging people - women and girls in particular, to get active and try football or other physical activity is extremely important to me. I look forward to working with Vitality to raise the visibility of women’s sport and motivate many more to take up this great game or other sport.”

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, added: “We’re delighted that Alex will be joining Vitality as an Ambassador. Alex is an extremely experienced and talented sportswoman with an outstanding track-record in her field, and we look forward to sharing her expertise with our members to motivate them to get active and live healthier lives.”
