Wednesday 6 April 2022 – VitalityCar has today announced that drivers can earn up to 25% cashback - based on their monthly car premium - when they drive well. In recognition that not everyone drives every day, customers can also earn cashback for car-free days. To launch the new cashback reward, Vitality will guarantee customers 25% cashback based on their monthly premium, every month until 30 June, by taking at least one trip a month.
The total saving of the cashback for a car insurance member equates to an average of up to £98 a year.
The latest announcement from VitalityCar forms part of its continued commitment to embedding rewards for good driving and the ability for customers to control their car insurance costs into its proposition, having first launched to the market in June 2021.
Through its app and sensor, Vitality uses technology to enable drivers to see how well they are driving and be rewarded for it, alongside logging any car-free days³. Good driving is defined against the five key behaviours that contribute to half of all road accidents when not regularly practiced - smooth acceleration, gentle braking, balanced cornering, not using a mobile phone when driving and keeping within the speed limit.
After the initial offer ends, members can continue to earn a monthly cashback by earning Vitality points within the app. A member will need to achieve the maximum number of points available (six) by driving well or having a car-free day for 10 days in a month, earning them 10% cashback4. After which, the driver will earn a further 1% cashback for every additional day they reach six points, up to a maximum of 25%. Cashback can be redeemed through the app, straight into a members’ chosen bank account.
