The Credit Card that rewards you for being active with a healthy cashback booster

1 Based on your monthly activity points you can earn up to 1% Vitality cashback booster and up to 1% cashback from American Express. We calculate your Vitality cashback booster based on how many eligible Vitality plans you have and how many Vitality activity points you earn each month, using a Vitality-compatible device. Each month’s cashback booster rate is based on the activity points earned two months previously. So you won’t earn Vitality cashback booster until the start of the third calendar month after you activate the benefit with Vitality. You can earn Vitality cashback booster on the first £1,000 of purchases each month. You’ll earn no cashback booster on purchases under £4, when your rate is 0.25%.

Get cashback on Waitrose Good Health Food range

From end of January 2020 Waitrose will replace Ocado as our healthy food partner. You’ll be able to get up to 25% cashback on the Waitrose Good Health Food range (excluding drinks) based on your monthly activity – both in store and online.

If you have a Health plan too, we’ll boost your cashback to up to 40%.

How it works

The amount you save in any month is based on your physical activity points earned the month before.

  • You can save on all products in the Waitrose Good Health range, excluding drinks.
  • You can save on a maximum of £100 of healthy food each month for single plans and £200 each month for family plans.
  • To use the benefit, you need to register for a myWaitrose account and link your Vitality membership.
  • Cashback will be paid monthly.
  • This benefit will replace our existing Healthy Food benefit. You’ll no longer be able to earn Vitality points for food purchases from Ocado.
You’ll be able to use the existing Ocado benefit until 17th January 2020.

When does it start?

Waitrose will be available at the end of January and you’ll find full information on Member Zone once it’s live. You’ll need to be a myWaitrose member. If you’re not already you can sign up online for free.

Discount on hotel bookings with Expedia

You can soon enjoy discounts on hotels around the world with Expedia. Depending on your Vitality status, you can earn between 10-20% off prepaid hotel stays on up to four bookings per plan year. This discount is on top of any seasonal or loyalty offers run by Expedia.

Discount on flights with Virgin Atlantic

Get 15% off all fares, classes and cabins with Virgin Atlantic Airways.

You can make up to four bookings per plan year depending on your Vitality status and once you’ve completed your online health review.

Get a Caffè Nero coffee reward every week

In April 2020, Caffè Nero will be replacing Starbucks as one of our Active Reward partners.

Don't worry, you'll continue to enjoy your drink by earning 12 activity points a week. And, once you have you'll now get a discount of 25% off on Caffè Nero's selection of food too for that whole week. 

You can use the benefit in every Caffè Nero store in the UK from the high street to service stations to airports.

Access to care advice and discounted care services

Knowing where to find information on care can be difficult, especially in a time of need and the costs can quickly escalate. That’s why we’ve teamed up with SuperCarers - an online platform which helps you find the best care. 

As a Vitality member, you and your family will have automatic access to CareSolved - which gives you access to advice about care and care services at no additional cost. 

All Health, Life and Invest members, and their immediate family, are eligible to access the SuperCarers service including CareSolved and a 20% discount on the first £1000 of ongoing care through SuperCarers. For members who currently have a VitalityLife plan with our Later Life Options (Dementia and FrailCare Cover or Dementia and FrailCare Cover Plus) the benefit you will receive is increased to 20% off the first £3000 for on-going care if required.

SuperCarers on MemberZone

You can continue to get Apple Watch Series 5 through your VitalityLife until 31 January 2020. After this, access to this benefit will end, though you’ll still be able to use Apple Watch to earn activity points. If you’ve already activated the benefit, you’ll keep getting your cashback payments until your current credit agreement ends.

To encourage you to take a broader view of your physical wellbeing, we’re increasing the number of ways you can earn Vitality points. If your key health indicators are in the healthiest category, we’re also making it easier for you to earn and retain points, by reducing the need for yearly Healthchecks. The following changes to the Vitality points system start from November 2019:

Up to 80% off health screenings with Bluecrest

From 13 December 2019, Bluecrest will be our primary health screen provider, making it easier to take control of your health - and understand your key health numbers.

Depending on your Vitality Age Gap, you’ll now be able to save between 50% and 80% on one screening with Bluecrest per plan year. To qualify for the discount, you need to complete your Vitality Healthcheck.

You can book at one of 2,000 locations across the UK throughout the year - from the south coast to Inverness. We’re also improving the discounts available to you. 

As a result, you’ll no longer be able to use Nuffield Health and BMI Healthcare for your discounted health screenings. However, any health screenings you’ve already booked (until 1 February 2020) will be valid. You can find more details in Member Zone.

Vitality Healthcheck

From 24th February 2020 the price of a Vitality Healthcheck will change from £10 to £12.50. To book your Vitality Healthcheck, simply log on to the Member Zone.

Other points and clinical changes

  • If you have achieved ‘Green Zone’ results for any biometric readings (BMI, Blood Glucose, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol) in a Vitality Healthcheck, you’ll now get the Vitality points for those Green Zone readings automatically in the next plan year. This means you may only need a Vitality Healthcheck every two years.
  • Vitality points for cholesterol readings will now be based on the ratio of total cholesterol to ‘good’ HDL (High-density Lipoprotein) cholesterol.
  • BMI assessments will now also include a waist circumference measurement.
  • From 1st January 2020 we’ll no longer be rolling over 10% of your Vitality points into your next plan year.
  • You will no longer be able to earn Vitality points for ECG and Glaucoma test screenings.
  • We’ll be adding a new range of screening activities which you can earn points for including points for an eye test every two years.

Vitality Plus fees will change on plan anniversaries from 1 April 2020:

  • Vitality Plus with Optimiser - £4.75, incl. VAT
  • Vitality Plus standard (without Optimiser) – £6.50, incl. VAT
  • Vitality Plus fee for children remains at £2.00, incl. VAT
