For example:

  • 10 good driving days = 10% cashback
  • 17 good driving days = 17% cashback
  • 25 good driving days = 25% cashback (this is your maximum)

Only the planholder can earn cashback. But trips taken by named drivers will count towards the number of good driving days earned.
All Vitality car insurance members are eligible for our cashback reward. You just need to have an active car insurance plan with us. To qualify, just link your sensor to the Vitality App for the cars you insure with us.

We'll base the amount of cashback you receive per month on your core insurance premium amount divided by 12. This amount includes Insurance Premium Tax but excludes add-ons like Motor Legal Protection Cover, Breakdown Cover, No Claims Discount Protection Cover, Replacement Car Cover; and any interest charged if your Insurance Premium is paid by monthly direct debits.

If your premium changes during the month, we'll use your new premium to calculate your cashback amount from the next month.

You'll be able to withdraw cashback from the app in July. We'll let you know when it's ready.

Definitions

“Cashback” means the amount you receive if you are eligible for the Cashback Special Offer during the Special Offer Period. This is calculated on the monthly cost of your core Insurance Premium (as set out in section 4 below). This is not a refund of your Insurance Premium. During the Special Offer Period, we will guarantee your Cashback percentage to be 25% each month, subject to the terms set out herein.

“Insurance Premium” means the core insurance premium you pay as part of your VitalityCar Insurance Plan. Your core insurance premium includes Insurance Premium Tax but excludes any add-ons or interest payments as set out in section 4.

“Insurance Premium Tax” means the tax that is payable on car insurance premiums.

“Special Offer Period” means 1 April 2022 to 30 June 2022 (inclusive).

“Vitality App” means the app which can be downloaded and accessed by members here on Google Play or the App Store. The app allows members to track their rewards and get fast access to their Plan details.

“VitalityCar Insurance Plan” or “Plan” means the insurance plan arranged by VitalityCar and underwritten by and administered by Covea Insurance plc.

1. What is the VitalityCar Cashback Special Offer?

  • Your VitalityCar Insurance Plan lets you earn up to 25% Cashback as a reward for driving well each month (“Cashback Reward”). The Cashback amount will be calculated on the monthly cost of your core Insurance Premium (as set out in section 4 below).
  • During the Special Offer Period, we will guarantee your Cashback Reward percentage to be 25% each month if you link your sensor to the Vitality App and record one trip in each month during the Special Offer Period on the Vitality App, subject to the terms set out herein (the “Cashback Special Offer”).

2. Who is Eligible for the Cashback Special Offer?

  • Any Plan holder with a VitalityCar Insurance Plan. This Special Offer is available to existing Plan holders and those who take out a Plan during the Special Offer Period.
  • This Special Offer is for the Plan holder only and cannot be redeemed by the named drivers. However, any named drivers who link their Vitality App to the Plan holder’s sensor and record one trip in each month during the Special Offer Period, will contribute towards the Cashback Special Offer.

3. How Do I Gain the Guaranteed 25% Cashback Special Offer?

  • To gain the Cashback Special Offer, you must install your sensor(s) in the car(s) that are registered under your VitalityCar Insurance Plan(s) and sync these sensor(s) to your Vitality App. You can sync your sensor(s) to the Vitality App by following the instructions set out here. Once your sensor(s) are synced, you must record one trip on the Vitality App in each month during the Special Offer Period.
  • If you take out a new VitalityCar Insurance Plan during the Special Offer Period, you will only be eligible to earn the Cashback Special Offer on the remaining months until the end of the Special Offer Period. For example, if you join on 3 May 2022 you will only be eligible for the Cashback Special Offer in May 2022 and June 2022.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure that your sensor(s) are synced to the Vitality App during each month of the Special Offer Period and that your trips are up to date on the Vitality App each month.

4. How Do You Work Out How Much Cashback I Am Eligible For?

  • We will base the amount of Cashback you receive per month on your Insurance Premium amount divided by 12. This amount includes Insurance Premium Tax but excludes add-ons like Motor Legal Protection Cover, Breakdown Cover, No Claims Discount Protection Cover , Replacement Car Cover; and any interest charged if your Insurance Premium is paid by monthly direct debits.
  • If you join mid-way through the month, we’ll base the amount of Cashback you receive that month on the number of days you’ve paid the Insurance Premium for in that month.
  • To calculate the Cashback, we will use the Insurance Premium which is active on the first day of the month in which you earn the Cashback during the Special Offer Period. If you make any changes to your cover or renew your VitalityCar Insurance Plan during any month in the Special Offer Period, we’ll use your new Insurance Premium to calculate your Cashback from the next month.
  • To give you time to start recording your driving on the Vitality App if you take out a new VitalityCar Insurance Plan during the Special Offer Period, we will guarantee your Cashback Special Offer for the month you join, provided you record one trip by the end of the following month on the Vitality App. For example, if you join in June, we will guarantee your Cashback Special Offer, provided you record one trip by the end of July on the Vitality App.
  • In order for us to calculate the amount of Cashback you will earn during the Special Offer Period, you will need to make sure that your sensor(s) are synced to your Vitality App each month during the Special Offer Period.

5. How and When Can I Withdraw My Cashback?

  • We will confirm the amount of Cashback you have earned during the Special Offer Period at the end of the Special Offer Period. We will aim to confirm this amount by 31 July 2022 at the latest (subject to delays that are beyond our control). Once we have confirmed the amount of Cashback earned, it will become available in the balance on your Vitality App.
  • Your VitalityCar Insurance Plan must be active at the end of the Special Offer Period for you to claim the Cashback amount.
  • Once the amount of Cashback you’ve earned has been calculated by us and added to your balance on the Vitality App, you can withdraw the full amount at any time by requesting to do so on the Vitality App.
  • To withdraw your Cashback balance, you must provide us with your bank details in the Member Zone, which can be accessed through your Vitality App. It is your responsibility to ensure your details are up to date at all times.
  • You can only withdraw the full available Cashback balance as shown on your Vitality App. We are unable to pay out part of the balance to you. If you request to withdraw your Cashback on the Vitality App, we'll pay it into the bank account you have provided us with on the Member Zone within three to five working days (subject to any delays that are beyond our control).

6. What if I have more than one VitalityCar Insurance Plan?

  • If you have more than one VitalityCar Insurance Plan, we’ll calculate your Cashback based on the combined total monthly Insurance Premium for each of your VitalityCar Insurance Plans (calculated in accordance with section 4 above).
  • When making the calculation, we'll also take into account all driving from all vehicles registered on your VitalityCar Insurance Plans.
  • In order to earn the Cashback, you must install a sensor in each of your vehicles that are registered under your Plan and sync all of these sensors to your Vitality App. In order for us to calculate your Cashback amount each month, you must make sure all of your sensors are synced to your Vitality App each month during the Special Offer Period. You cannot earn Cashback if any one of your vehicles are not synced to your Vitality App.

7. General Information

  • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this reward at any time and for any reason, including where we determine, at our absolute discretion there is fraudulent behaviour by any participant.
  • This Cashback Reward is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
  • We accept no responsibility for any Cashback payments that are not delivered to you or lost as a result of you not updating your bank details on the Member Zone prior to payment of the Cashback balance.
  • We are not liable to any person in any way in relation to this Cashback Reward, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
  • We accept no responsibility for any entries of information on the Vitality App that are unsuccessfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts and tribunals with regard to any dispute or claim arising under these Terms and Conditions.

Definitions

“Car Free Day” means a day in which the vehicle(s) that are registered under your VitalityCar Insurance Plan(s) and linked to your Vitality App, have not been driven. This must be recorded as a ‘Car Free Day’ on your Vitality App. ‘Pending’ Car Free Days shown on the Vitality App do not qualify as ‘Car Free Days’ under these Terms and Conditions.

“Cashback” means the amount you receive if you are eligible for the Cashback Reward each month. This is calculated on the monthly cost of your core Insurance Premium (as set out in section 4 below). This is not a refund of your Insurance Premium. You can receive up to 25% Cashback per month and the percentage of Cashback you receive will be based on your driving behaviour each month (as set out in section 3 below).

“Good Driving Day” means when a VitalityCar Insurance Plan holder gets the maximum driving points (6 points) per day on the Vitality App by driving well or having a Car Free Day which is recorded on the Vitality App. A maximum of 10 Car Free Days per month can contribute to a Plan holder’s Good Driving Day total per month, as set out in section 3. Driving by any named drivers on a VitalityCar plan holder’s Insurance Plan can contribute to the driving points and Car Free Days earned on the Vitality App.

“Insurance Premium” means the core insurance premium you pay as part of your VitalityCar Insurance Plan. Your core insurance premium includes Insurance Premium Tax but excludes any add-ons or interest payments as set out in section 4.

1. What is the VitalityCar Cashback Reward?

  • Your VitalityCar Insurance Plan lets you earn up to 25% Cashback as a reward for driving well each month (“Cashback Reward”).
  • The Cashback amount will be calculated on the monthly cost of your core Insurance Premium (as set out in section 4 below).
  • We calculate the percentage of Cashback you receive per month based on your driving behaviour every month, which will be recorded on your Vitality App (as set out in section 3 below).

2. Who is Eligible?

  • Any Plan holder with a VitalityCar Insurance Plan. This reward is for the Plan holder only and cannot be redeemed by the named drivers. However, any named drivers who link their Vitality App to the Plan holder’s sensor(s) can earn Good Driving Days and driving points towards the Cashback Reward.

3. How Do I Earn Cashback?

  • To earn Cashback each month, you must install your sensor(s) in the car(s) that are registered under your VitalityCar Insurance Plan(s) and sync these sensor(s) to your Vitality App. You can sync your sensors to the Vitality App by following the instructions set out here.
  • You start earning Cashback once you earn 10 Good Driving Days in a month. Each Good Driving Day earns you 1% Cashback: so, 10 Good Driving Days earns you 10% Cashback; 11 Good Driving Days earns you 11% Cashback; and so on, up to a maximum of 25% Cashback per month.
  • You can accumulate a maximum of 10 Car Free Days towards your Good Driving Day total per month.
  • In the interest of earning this Cashback Reward, it’s your responsibility to make sure information regarding your driving points and Car Free Days are up to date on the Vitality App. You can do this by making sure that your sensor(s) are synced to the Vitality App each month.

4. How Do You Work Out How Much Cashback I Am Eligible For?

  • We will base the amount of Cashback you receive per month on your Insurance Premium amount divided by 12. This amount includes Insurance Premium Tax but excludes add-ons like Motor Legal Protection Cover, Breakdown Cover, No Claims Discount Protection Cover, Replacement Car Cover; and any interest charged if your Insurance Premium is paid by monthly direct debits.
  • If you join mid-way through the month or your Plan lapses mid-way through the month, we’ll base the amount of Cashback you receive that month on the number of days you’ve paid the Insurance Premium for in that month.
  • To calculate the Cashback, we will use the Insurance Premium which is active on the first day of the month in which you earn the Cashback. If you make any changes to your cover or renew your VitalityCar Insurance Plan during any month, we’ll use your new Insurance Premium to calculate your Cashback from the next month.
  • To give you time to start recording your driving, we’ll base the amount of your first Cashback on your highest-earning month in the first two calendar months from starting your Plan (this includes the month you start your Plan).
  • If you have more than one VitalityCar Insurance Plan, your first Cashback will be based on your highest earning month in the first two calendar months from starting your first Plan with us (this includes the month you started your first Plan).
  • Once you have synced your sensor(s) to the Vitality App, we’ll add any extra amount you may earn to your Cashback balance as shown on your Vitality App at the start of the third calendar month from starting your VitalityCar Insurance Plan.
  • In order for us to calculate the amount of Cashback you receive each month, you’ll need to make sure that your sensor(s) are synced to your Vitality App every month.
  • When you sync your sensor(s) for the first time in a calendar month to the Vitality App, it will take up to three to five working days for us to calculate your Cashback and for your Cashback balance to appear on the Vitality App. This is subject to any delays that are beyond our control. We will take into account your Good Driving Days for up to two prior calendar months when calculating your Cashback balance.

5. How and When Can I Withdraw My Cashback?

  • Once the amount of Cashback you’ve earned has been calculated by us and added to your balance on the Vitality App, you can withdraw the full amount at any time by requesting to do so on the Vitality App.
  • To withdraw your Cashback balance, you must provide us with your bank details in the Member Zone, which can be accessed through your Vitality App. It is your responsibility to ensure your details are up to date at all times.
  • You can only withdraw the full available Cashback balance as shown on your Vitality App. We are unable to pay out part of the balance to you.
  • If you request to withdraw your Cashback on the Vitality App, we’ll pay it into the bank account you have provided us with on the Member Zone within three to five working days (subject to any delays that are beyond our control).

6. What Happens If I Renew My VitalityCar Insurance Plan?

  • If you renew your Plan, we’ll carry over your Cashback balance into the new Plan year.
  • If you don't renew your Plan, we don't pay any further Cashback to you that has been accumulated from the day after you end your Plan. You will need to ensure your bank details are up to date on Member Zone before your Plan ends in order for us to pay out any remaining balance after your Plan ends. We will pay out any balance within 2 calendar months of your Plan ending, subject to any delays beyond our control.

7. What Happens If Your VitalityCar Insurance Plan is Cancelled?

  • If you cancel your Plan or we cancel your Plan for any of the reasons listed in your Plan document, then you will need to ensure your bank details are up to date on Member Zone before your Plan ends in order for us to pay out any remaining balance after your Plan ends. We will pay out any balance within 2 calendar months of your Plan ending, subject to any delays beyond our control.
  • We don’t pay any Cashback accumulated from the month you cancel your Plan. For example, if you cancel your Plan on 12 April, we will only pay you the Cashback Reward up to and including the month of March.

8. What If I Have More Than One VitalityCar Insurance Plan?

  • If you have more than one VitalityCar Insurance Plan, we’ll calculate your Cashback based on the combined total monthly Insurance Premium for each of your VitalityCar Insurance Plans (calculated in accordance with section 4 above).
