Alexa Skills add new capabilities that create a more personalised experience with your Amazon Echo Dot, and other Alexa-enabled devices. Enabling skills lets Alexa do even more, such as finding recipes, doing workouts or listening to healthy living tips on the Vitality skill.

You enable skills onto Amazon Echo devices through the Alexa App or via the Amazon Skill Store online.
Alexa - the brain behind Amazon Echo - updates through the cloud automatically and is continually learning, adding new functionality and skills. The more you use Echo, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary and personal preferences.
Amazon has recently added Alexa calling and messaging between supported Echo device or the Alexa App, multi-room music - available for Amazon Music, TuneIn and Spotify; Bluetooth not supported - and reminders, along with skills from third-party developers, such as the Vitality Alexa Skill.

Once you’ve downloaded the Alexa App to your phone or tablet, open it, tap on the burger menu and choose ‘Settings’.

If your Echo device is not listed, choose ‘Set up a new device’ and follow the instructions.

During set up, you will connect your Echo device to the internet, so you will need your WiFi password.

When you want to use your Amazon Echo device, just say the wake word “Alexa” and the Echo device responds.

If you have more than one Echo or Echo Dot, Alexa responds intelligently from the device you're closest to with ESP (Echo Spatial Perception).
