Who we are

Our ambition is to be the UK’s best health and protection insurer and a powerful force for social good. Being the ‘best’ doesn’t necessarily mean the biggest, but for us, it’s about having the greatest impact on society and making a positive difference in the world.

In August 2015, our parent company Discovery was named by Fortune magazine as one of the top 51 companies in their Change the World list which looks at social impact. Discovery was the only insurance company to make the list, and was placed ahead of brands like IBM, Nike and Unilever.

What we do

Within the Vitality family we have two main businesses - Vitality Health, which provides private medical insurance, and Vitality Life that offers a range of protection products including life insurance, serious illness cover and income protection.

We believe that life is better when you look after your health and we extend this belief to our employees who are based in three locations - Bournemouth, London and Stockport.

Our Offices

Find out more about our fantastic offices in Stockport, Bournemouth and London.


Based in the heart of the City, our beautiful new London Vitality office is just a short walk from Bank station, Liverpool St and Monument. You’ll find some of London’s most recognisable landmarks within walking distance of the office, including St Pauls’ Cathedral, the Tate modern and the Tower of London, so there’s no shortage of things to do and see when you need a break from work. With around 150 people based here, it’s home to many teams including Marketing, Compliance and Risk, Actuarial and Legal.

With its long, sandy beaches and a vast array of shops and restaurants, our Bournemouth Vitality office is based in one of the most popular beach-side towns in the country. Situated at the top of Richmond Hill, our Bournemouth Vitality office is home to over 500 employees and includes Customer Services, Advisor services, Underwriting, Marketing, HR, Health Claims and IT support. We’re also proud to sponsor the home of our local football team, AFC Bournemouth, which is now named the Vitality Stadium.

Seven miles southeast of Manchester, our Stockport Vitality office is a 15 minute walk from the train station.  Vitality teams based here include Customer Services, Direct Sales, Consultant Services and Vitality support. Since our acquisition of Standard Life we’ve been steadily growing our teams in Stockport and now have over 600 people based here. We’ve recently installed a fantastic new restaurant so people can enjoy healthy meals and snacks throughout the day.
