Your journey to the Vitality London 10,000 starts here. Read on for your first dose of weekly motivation to make sure you’re race ready on 28th September
At Vitality, we believe that running is one of the most accessible ways to support our health.
That’s why we are welcoming back the annual Vitality London 10,000 run through the streets of the UK capital, finishing in front of Buckingham Palace, on 28th September.
Whether you’re taking your first stride into running or already established in pounding the pavements, training for a 10k run is a great goal to work towards to keep you active and healthy.
So, to support you with your training, we have put together a 10 weeks to 10k programme to help you be ready on race day.
It doesn't matter if you’re chasing a personal best or want to complete a 10k for the first time, our plan has been designed to supported you every step of the way.
We will be helping to gradually build your stamina and confidence using a variety of training methods, including endurance runs, interval sessions and rest days.
Each week focuses on steady, sustainable progress – not perfection – so you can build confidence, stay motivated, and feel support from start to finish.
And you’ll be led through the whole plan by Vitality Ambassador Jessica Ennis-Hill, who is getting together with a host of household names, including fellow Olympians, to make sure you’re feeling ready on the day.

For week one of the plan, Ennis-Hill is joined by Jonny Kibble, Vitality’s Head of Physical Activity and Exercise, who will share practical tips on why a warm-up is essential for performance and preventing injury.
A dynamic warm up will become an essential part of every run that you do, helping you to prepare mentally and physically for what’s ahead.
