In a recent Vitality webinar, Chief Editor Adam Saville was joined by Chief Medical Officer Dr Harpreet Sarna, as well as Head of Internal Comms and Employee Wellbeing, Hannah Willis and Senior Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach, Silvia Cordoba.
The panel discussed the role that workplaces can play in helping to encourage healthier lifestyle choices, the importance of empathetic listening when an employee shares a health concern and creating cultures where employees feel comfortable opening up.
Additionally, the panel highlighted the crucial role of screening in preventing cancer and shared practical ways employers can support to those affected by a diagnosis or treatment – whether it’s offering flexibility or adjusting workloads.
