Vitality and Lloyds launch new accessible health offering
Vitality, the leading health and life insurer, and Lloyds have joined forces to help more customers put their health first by offering a new type of insurance.
The new Health Plan with two levels to choose from – the Essential plan and the Plus plan – has been created to provide affordable fast access to GP, physio, and mental health support, with the option to add diagnostic tests and scans.
Available to Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers online and in app, this new partnership with Vitality reflects a joint commitment to improve people’s health by making essential and everyday healthcare more accessible and quicker.
It launches amid rising demand for accessible, flexible wellbeing support. Vitality research shows that 1 in 3 people in the UK have delayed or avoided a healthcare appointment in the past year due to long waiting times or lack of availability, with nearly 1 in 5 unable to access mental health services they felt they needed*. Women are more impacted, with 27% of women having avoided or delayed GP appointments compared to 18% of men*. Similarly, young people were even more likely to do the same, with 30% of people aged 18-34 delaying or avoiding GP appointments*.
The Health Plan has been designed to help people stay healthy, with regular health assessments and savings on a gym membership, alongside access to primary care services including Vitality GP, physiotherapy and mental health care, for a low monthly fee starting from £18 a month. The plan will initially be rolled out to Lloyds customers.
Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, said: “Our latest innovation meets the growing demand from consumers for easier and quicker access to everyday care services such as GP appointments, mental health treatments, and physiotherapy.
“We are incredibly proud to be partnering with Lloyds Banking Group, bringing this model to a wider audience, which will see support better health outcomes for many more people now and in the years ahead.”
Jeremy Ward, Insurance Director at Lloyds, said: "We’re partnering with Vitality to give customers a new way to safeguard their health, simply and easily. This is an exciting next step in building our insurance ecosystem, offering quick and affordable healthcare with two levels of cover and Vitality Rewards Programme included.
“This is another bold move to help us deliver on our ambition to provide a financial safety net for UK families throughout their lives – from health to critical illness, income and life cover, while also protecting their homes, cars and pets. I’m proud that our customers can continue to put their trust in us to help them look after their health today and in the future."

Furthermore, members can have access to 8 sessions of taking therapy, and there is no limit to the number of GP consultations, or in-network physiotherapy sessions they can have.
