Worldwide travel insurance FAQs

Our Worldwide Travel Cover covers every country outside of the UK, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. But, if the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is advising against all travel, or all but essential travel to your destination, you won’t be covered.

See the UK Government’s foreign travel advice
Our Worldwide Travel Cover doesn’t cover:
  • Trips over 120 days
  • Tropical disease if you haven't had the NHS recommended vaccinations or medication
  • Medical treatment if it can wait until you return to the UK.
See all exclusions
If you have to cancel a trip or cut it short due to COVID-19, you won't be covered. This is because your travel is quite likely to be disrupted and travel insurance is there to cover unexpected events.
Whether you travel often, or once a year, it’s worth considering worldwide travel insurance. It gives you peace of mind knowing you’ll be covered if:
  • You have an accident and need medical treatment
  • You lose your passport
  • You need travel vaccinations and medication
  • Your baggage gets lost or is stolen
  • Your flights are delayed or cancelled
  • You need to cancel your trip at the last minute.
Most travel insurance policies include some sort of health insurance cover while you’re abroad.

You can include Worldwide Travel Cover in your Vitality health insurance plan. This will cover you for emergency medical expenses while you’re abroad.
The cost of travel insurance with health insurance depends on the provider.

Our health insurance starts from £35 a month. You can then include Worldwide Travel Cover in your plan. How much extra this costs depends on your age.
They’re different types of cover. Your health insurance only covers treatment you have in the UK. Travel insurance covers you for emergency treatment while you are travelling overseas.
