How Vitality works
Getting started with Vitality
We reward you for being healthy, by making it easier and cheaper for you to get active and stay active.
This guide shows you how to get going and how to start earning rewards.
Just so you know – you can only receive rewards from partners that are included on your plan. Check the ‘Partners and rewards’ page in the Member Zone to see if your plan is eligible.
Understand your health
The first step of the Vitality journey is to create your Health Profile in the Vitality Member app, to:
- Find out your Vitality Age – for an idea of how healthy you are.
- Follow personalised tips on how to get healthier and boost your wellbeing.
- If your plan is eligible you could unlock your Active Rewards, so you can earn regular treats for being active.

Get your Vitality Age
Get a snapshot of how healthy you are and earn up to 200 Vitality points when you complete your Health Profile in the Vitality Member app.

Take a Vitality Healthcheck
Get to know your key health numbers with a Vitality Healthcheck through our health check with Bluecrest and earn up to 680 Vitality points. There’s a cost of up to £15 for some plan types.

Rate your fitness
If your plan’s eligible, you could take a fitness assessment at Virgin Active to understand your overall fitness level and earn up to 240 Vitality points.

Get a health assessment
If a Vitality GP recommends it, you could save on a range of health assessments with Bluecrest if your plan’s eligible.

Stop smoking programme
If you’re a smoker, you can quit with Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking programme, worth up to £349.
Get healthier
Once you have your key health numbers, it’s time to track your activity.
If your plan’s eligible, you could earn activity points for walking, running, cycling, or going to the gym – with one of our discounted trackers, a Fitbit device, or the Google Fit or Apple Health apps.

If you have an eligible plan, you can get up to 50% off certain monthly gym membership fees with Virgin Active, Nuffield Health or PureGym gyms – a joining fee applies.

Enjoy great prices on the exclusive Vitality collection by Nike and discounts off sports gear from Runners Need.

Give parkrun a go
Up your fitness game with a weekly parkrun and earn points every time you walk, jog, run or volunteer
Get rewarded
Track your activity to earn Vitality points and if your plan's eligible, you could get regular rewards for getting active – helping you to rest, relax and live life well. Our easy-to-use savings tool will tell you how much you can save with our list of partners.
How points and status work
You can earn Vitality points from the word go. Get started by completing your Health Profile in the Vitality Member app and taking a Vitality Healthcheck, which could earn you up to 880 points. That's enough to get you from Bronze to Silver status straight away.
The more Vitality points you earn in a plan year, the higher your Vitality status will be. Everyone starts at Bronze and then you can work up to Silver, Gold and finally Platinum.
You can also earn points with our partner Headspace and for healthy living, which help to boost your Vitality status.

If your plan’s eligible, you could earn regular activity points towards rewards with Apple Watch, ODEON and Vue.

Build your Vitality status
As you go from Bronze up to Silver and beyond, the rewards get bigger, such as discounted hotel stays if you have an eligible plan.

You can earn Vitality points with our mindfulness and meditation partner, Headspace, designed to help you build relaxation into your day.
