What does joining the Vitality Programme mean?

Here at Vitality, we do things a bit differently. We want to help our members live longer, healthier, happier lives and reward you for looking after your health.

The Vitality UK member app is your gateway to your cover and to better health. After a few simple setup actions, you’ll get personalised health recommendations, earn Vitality points for healthy things, and be rewarded. You’ll also get a Vitality status.

Everyone starts on Bronze and the more points you earn you progress though Silver to Gold and eventually Platinum. The higher your status the better the benefits. Most members earn their points through steps and everyday activity but there’s lots of other ways to earn points too.

Follow the easy steps below and get set up today.

Getting started

In the time it takes to make a cup of tea, you can get set up and earning points and rewards.

Four easy steps to start earning rewards

Download the app
Download the Vitality Member app which is your gateway to Vitality. To set up your account, you’ll need your membership number, which you can find on any email sent from us. You use the same account login for Member Zone (giving you desktop access to the Vitality Programme) and the Vitality GP app too.

Link a device
Next, you’ll need to link the device you want to use to track your steps. Most members link their phone via the Apple Health or Google Fit app. And, if you have an activity tracker or smartwatch, you can link that too and capture even more healthy actions. The Vitality Member app will walk you through what to do, or you can use this handy support guide and you’ll be set up in no time!

Create your Health Profile
In the app, you’ll be asked to create your Health Profile. This makes it possible to start earning points and ensures you see supportive content to help you meet your health goals.

Get active to earn rewards
Now you're set up, tracking activities like walking the dog, a bike ride, or weekend gardening will soon earn you Vitality points on the app. Get active each week to unlock regular Active Rewards at Caffè Nero or the cinema, and as your Vitality status goes up, you’ll unlock bigger discounts on Status Rewards like holidays.

What can the Vitality Programme do for you?

We can help you understand your health better by giving you access to health tools, advice and even discounted health checks. You can also get Vitality points for taking simple healthy actions like having a dental check-up.

Then we make it easier to improve your health with things like discounts on selected partner gyms, fitness trackers and trainers.

And, to keep you motivated, your healthy activity unlocks rewards including handcrafted drinks or smoothies, cinema tickets if eligible, and discounts on trips away.

How does improving your Vitality status help you?

Each Vitality status gives you access to additional benefits and rewards. Depending on your plan, these include reducing the annual increase you may see on your premium, reducing your plan excess, and unlocking bigger discounts with our status reward partners. And once you’re more active, earning more points and increasing your status, you’ll feel fitter and healthier too!
