Vitality lines up England Rugby star Maro Itoje as its new Ambassador

Vitality today announced a partnership with Maro Itoje, one of England’s most exciting young rugby players, who takes on the role of Ambassador. Maro joins Vitality Ambassadors Jessica Ennis-Hill, Jonny Wilkinson and Joe Root.

As an England Rugby star, Maro will be using his passion for healthy living to inspire people to get active and make positive changes to their health. He will be offering practical advice and motivating everyone to take achievable steps towards lifelong wellness.

Vitality research shows improvements to activity levels can make a positive difference to people’s long-term health and through the extra nudge of incentives and rewards they can be encouraged to make healthy choices every day.

Vitality partners with leading sports figures, teams and events to amplify its message around health and wellness. The health and life insurer has an extensive rugby portfolio: Rugby World Cup winner Jonny Wilkinson has been a Vitality Ambassador since 2013 and the company is the Official Wellness Partner of England Rugby, Scottish Rugby and Welsh Rugby. Vitality also sponsored the World Rugby U20 Championship earlier this year.

To officially announce the partnership, Maro paid a visit to Twickenham Stadium, the home of England Rugby, ahead of an exciting autumn of rugby with the Old Mutual Wealth Series, which kicks off with England playing South Africa on 12th November.

Maro Itoje, England Rugby player and Vitality Ambassador, said: “I’m really proud to be   a Vitality Ambassador. Encouraging people to improve their health and wellbeing is hugely important to me and I truly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthier and happier life. I’m looking forward to working with Vitality to inspire people to get active and help spread the message about how we can all make positive changes to improve our health.”

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, said: “We are delighted to welcome Maro to our extraordinary group of Vitality Ambassadors. Maro is an incredible young talent and is already a fantastic role model to people of all ages. It’s great to have him on board as an Ambassador to help motivate each of us to take small steps to improve our long-term health.”
