How do I earn activity points and Vitality points?
Live healthily and be rewarded
Vitality makes it cheaper and easier to get healthy through discounts and motivating rewards. Here’s how it can help you:
How Vitality works
You can earn two kinds of points:
Activity points
Earned by tracking your physical activity using a tracking device, such as a smartphone or a Vitality partner smartwatch. Activity points count towards your Active Rewards.
Vitality points
Earned by select non-physical activities, such as meditating using a Vitality partner app or having an eye test. Vitality points do not count towards your Active Rewards.
Both activity points and Vitality points contribute towards your Vitality status.
Activity points are subject to daily and weekly limits. You can earn a maximum of 8 activity points per day and up to 40 activity points per week.
We’ll award points for only one exercise activity per day using an activity tracker. So, if you do more than one activity in a day, you’ll only receive activity points for the one that earns the most points.
Example:
Stanley walks 7,000 steps in the morning, which is enough to earn 3 activity points towards his Active Rewards and Vitality status. In the afternoon, Stanley rides a bike continuously for 30 minutes at 60% of his age-related maximum heart rate, which earns him 5 activity points. As activity points are awarded for only one tracked activity per day, Stanley receives 5 activity points for the day from riding the bike.
Attending a Vitality partner gym
If you attend a Vitality partner gym, you’ll earn 5 activity points that count towards your Active Rewards in addition to tracking an activity. So, you could earn 5 activity points for attending a Vitality partner gym and 3 activity points for tracking another activity, such as walking 7,000 steps to get the maximum of 8 activity points for the day.
Volunteering at a parkrun
5 Vitality points are awarded for volunteering at a parkrun. As these are Vitality points, not activity points, they won't count towards your Active Rewards.
If you take part in a parkrun, you’ll earn 8 activity points that will count towards your Active Rewards.
If you run and volunteer at a parkrun, you’ll be awarded 8 activity points for taking part in the parkrun and 5 points for volunteering.
