Rakuten TV FAQs

To be able to play and choose a Rakuten TV movie rental every month, you’ll need one of the following plans:

Personal health insurance
Business health insurance
Corporate health insurance
Life insurance with:

Optimiser
A minimum monthly premium of more than £45 for single life plans, or £60 for joint life plans
And a monthly fee of £5.50 per adult, to enjoy rewards

The Rakuten Benefit is open to all Eligible Members who comply with these terms and conditions. Your client must be a Vitality Plus member to qualify for this benefit, and must meet all qualifying criteria below.
For the purpose of these terms and conditions the following definitions apply;

Active means that a Vitality plan has no unpaid premiums, has not lapsed and has not been cancelled by the Eligible Member or by Vitality;
Activity Points means activity-based points that have been awarded to an Eligible Member through the Vitality Programme for participating in physical activity as recognised by Vitality;
Completion Criteria means the criteria set out in clause 4 to be completed by the Eligible Members to receive a Voucher;
Eligible Member(s) means anyone 18 years old and over with an Active Vitality Plan who:

is a resident of United Kingdom or a British Crown Dependency;
is registered on the Member Zone;
has completed their Health Profile; and
has met the Completion Criteria;

Health Profile means the feature within the Vitality UK App which shows Vitality members a clear picture of their current health with tips on how to improve it, following Vitality members completing an online health questionnaire in their current Plan Year;
Member Zone means the online portal available to members of Vitality (via personalised login) which allows them to review their Vitality Plan terms and other information relevant to their Vitality Plan;
Plan Year means normally, the initial twelve month period beginning on the start date of a member’s Vitality Plan and ending on the first anniversary of that start date and each subsequent twelve month period thereafter. Where there is a change in planholder or in some other circumstances, the start and end of the Plan Year may change despite a person remaining insured under a Vitality Plan at all times, giving a period of greater or less than twelve months accordingly. However, a Plan Year will always commence from the commencement date as shown on any plan documentation of a plan which a person is insured under;
Rakuten means Rakuten TV Europe, S.L.U., with its registered office a C/ Badajoz, 60, 08005 Barcelona, Spain, and VAT number ES-B65390544;
Rewards means the monthly Vitality partner rewards available for selection by Eligible Members who have Played including, but not limited to, the Voucher;
Reward Mall: means the screen within the Vitality UK App where Eligible Members who have Played can select their Rewards from, available for one (1) week from the last Monday of each calendar month;
Vitality means Vitality Corporate Services Limited (registered number 05933141) of 3 More London Riverside, London, SE1 2AQ trading as VitalityHealth and VitalityLife;
VitalityHealth Plan means a private medical insurance plan or healthcare trust administered and arranged by Vitality. This includes the following plans only;

a personal healthcare plan;
a business healthcare plan;
a corporate healthcare plan with Vitality Plus; or
corporate healthcare trust with Vitality Plus;

VitalityLife Plan means a non-investment long term insurance contract or trust scheme administered and arranged by Vitality with Vitality Plus;
Vitality Programme: The benefits programme administered by Vitality pursuant to which members are offered a range of wellness and lifestyle related Rewards;
Vitality Plan means a VitalityLife Plan and/or a VitalityHealth Plan;
Vitality Plus means the benefit called “Vitality Plus” which is included on all personal and business VitalityHealth Plans and can be added to corporate VitalityHealth Plans and VitalityLife Plans for an additional fee;
Play or Play(ed): means a game in the Vitality UK App available for Eligible Members who have achieved a Qualifying Week. Eligible Members who have achieved a Qualifying Week will be able to Play in the subsequent week to find up to 3 ‘Stanleys’ to give them a chance to unlock Rewards via the Reward Mall, which is capped at three (3) Rewards per calendar month.
Voucher means a voucher with a relative value of £5.49 which may be used in either of the following ways; i. towards the rental of one (1) Rakuten movie (in either standard definition or high definition) which has a value of up to £5.49; ii. or as a £5.49 discount on the value of any priced Rakuten movie rental (in either standard definition or high definition).
Voucher Wallet: means the e-wallet within the Vitality UK App where an Eligible Member can store their vouchers and Rewards once selected;

Eligible Members must earn 12 Activity Points in a calendar week, being 12:00am Monday to 11:59pm Sunday ( a ”Qualifying Week”), to enable them to Play from the Monday immediately following a Qualifying Week.
The Rakuten Benefit will only be available to Eligible Members with Vitality Plus and is only available via the Play function. Provided that an Eligible Member has achieved at least one Qualifying Week in a month and has Played for the relevant Qualifying Week, Eligible Members may unlock the Voucher as follows;

From the last Monday of each calendar month, Eligible Members who have found at least 4 ‘Stanleys’ via the Play function in that month will be able to select their Reward(s) for up to seven (7) days within the Reward Mall. The Reward Mall will open on the last Monday of each calendar month and will be open until 11:59pm on the following Sunday. If a Reward(s) is not selected from the Reward Mall during this period, Members will no longer be able to select any Rewards they have unlocked. One (1) Voucher in each month may be selected;
If an Eligible Member selects the Voucher within their Reward Mall, this will be stored in the Voucher Wallet immediately and redeemable with Rakuten for 30 days following the Voucher being selected. Upon expiry of the Voucher at the end of the 30 days, it will no longer be available for use.

(the “Rakuten Benefit”)

The Voucher(s) are subject to the following conditions:

The Voucher may only be used towards movie rentals and may not be used towards movie purchases. Rentals last for 48 hours from the time the movie is rented.
The Voucher may not be used towards the following movies;

movies in 4K resolution
movies in ultra-high definition (UHD); and
‘early home release’ movies.

Once a Voucher has been redeemed on a movie rental, the movie must be watched within 48 hours of redemption after which point the movie will no longer be able to be watched.
The Vouchers will be subject to Rakuten’s own terms and conditions, which Vitality will ensure Eligible Members will be notified of.
Subject to clause 11 the Vouchers are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
The Vouchers are for an Eligible Member’s personal use and may not be (or attempted to be) re-sold or re-gifted to any other individual.

Vitality is not responsible for any actions, representations, omissions, or defaults by Rakuten in relation to the Vouchers.
Vitality reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions (including extending or withdrawing the Rakuten Benefit) on the provision of written notice or via Vitality’s website (vitality.co.uk).
Vitality is not responsible in the event that an Eligible Member is unable to earn Activity Points or is otherwise unable to take up this Rakuten Benefit, for any reason that is outside of Vitality’s control.
Vitality will not be liable for any lost Voucher(s), including but not limited to, where an Eligible Member has changed their contact details and failed to notify Vitality of this change, any technical fault, malfunction, hardware or software failure or network or server failure of any kind.
Any decisions made by Vitality over eligibility or otherwise in relation to this Rakuten Benefit are final and will not be open to dispute. Such decisions are made at Vitality’s sole discretion and no correspondence will be entered into.
Vitality reserves the right to substitute any of the Vouchers or the Rakuten Benefit with other voucher(s) or benefits of a similar value.
Vitality reserves the right to refuse to award the Vouchers to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
All personal data of Eligible Members will be held and used by Vitality for the purpose of promoting this Rakuten Benefit in accordance with Vitality’s privacy notice (which can be found on https://www.vitality.co.uk/privacy/) and data protection legislation.
Vitality is the party legally responsible for this Rakuten Benefit as the promoter.
Where there is any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the terms and conditions covering the Play function (insert link), the Play terms and conditions shall prevail.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and by taking part in the Rakuten Benefit, Eligible Members submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts and tribunals with regard to any dispute or claim arising under these terms and conditions.
